Adding Music to blog
-
I really need to be able to put music on my blog. Since I’m new on Odeo, I can’t upload neighter. I hope WP will provide an alternative, soon.
-
All right then, how bloody often do we need to read the whole bloody FAQ to get updates? I have better things to do than re-read things I already read months ago.
-
TT – I saw matt’s reply too ;)
raincoaster – the edits I make to older posts on the faq are made in the light of feedback. They add no extra information as such but they clarify for newer users.
The new stuff – you could get the feed? I just checked and the faq cannot be added to the friend surfer. Or just take a glance at the front page. It’s still like a blog – you can see the first post and navigate back to those you have read.maajkel – you have searched for ‘music’ on the faq?

You can search on the FAQ?!?!?!?! When did they start that?!?!?!?!?

You’ve got to be joking. Now you’re not only risking your WordPress, you’re risking your gmail. There is apparently no floor of competence for spammers.

I purchased the space upgrade but I cant get the audio player to play the audio selection.
Here is the path. frustrating! Can anyone help??[audio http://freddiebell.wordpress.com/2007/12/alivekindafunkybeat.mp3%5D
-
The URL should be:
[audio src="http://freddiebell.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/alivekindafunkybeat.mp3" /]

Oh my goodness you rock. It worked!! Additionally. 1. Did I have to purchase the upgrade to accomplish this as I did?
2. Must I always upload the file first, (Like Photos) and then place the audio in the path you provided?Again, thank you. I’ve been trying to get answers to this for months!

1) To upload the mp3 file, yes. Here’s the FAQ on filetypes. You could have linked to the file located on other sites but that sometimes is a pain and then you also have to rely on the other site to be functional.
2) You don’t have to upload the file to the site first. You can find yourself a hoster for the file but ones that allow you to link directly to the file instead of requiring you to link to a page containing the file are hard to come by. I’m sure someone will speak up and give you a few suggestions as none come to mind right off.
