adding music to my blog

I just started my blog site and would like to have music playing in the background…how do I do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you have a wordpress.com blog, AFAIK, you can’t.
Now, if there’s a way to do it, keep in mind that background music in blogs/sites is frowned upon, and they’re not only very irritating, but also encourage people to never visit your site/blog ever again.

try this.

ragdo,
I don’t think that’s what the OP is asking. If I understand well, she wants music to start playing as soon as the blog loads… having a music player/playlist is quite different.

I can’t give you an example, but hanging around the forum a lot and looking at blogs with questions, I’ve come across some that the music automatically starts playing with Youtube embeds. Very annoying.

Thanks for you suggestions regarding adding music to a blog site. Maybe it would be better to offer the music element…as an option…rather than subjecting someone to what my preferences are. Much gratitude for all your help! Cindy :)

I agree you want to make it optional. it can be very distracting otherwise,. Also, you need to make sure the music you use is royalty free. Otherwise you’d need to pay for the use. If you need more info let me know.
Question, what type of blog is it? If its about music, you could post links to content.

If you look up YouTube in the Support documents, you can find the way to make it play automatically. There is no need to clear usage, since the uploaders at YouTube guarantee they have the right to redistribute that track for listening. It is their responsibility.
You can also add audio through Soundcloud or the WP.com audio player, if audio is all you want. Details in the Support docs.
