Adding Mutiple Images in New Editor

I can’t find how to add multiple images and then configure them in the new editor. It only allows me to add one image at a time (not do a multi-select from the media folder) and it displays them separately as opposed to a tiled mosiac, etc…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Howdy –

    Thanks for getting in touch.

Are you able to add the image block, insert the image, and then add a new image block, and insert another image, and repeat…

I see you have galleries and single images added in to this post: https://jellotailgate.wordpress.com/2018/11/15/penn-state-vs-rutgers-2018/ Is that the one you’re working on?

That post is complete. I’m working on this one now. https://wordpress.com/post/jellotailgate.wordpress.com/2633

I started the post you referenced in the new editor, but couldn’t find a way to add multiple images and configure them like you can in the classic editor, so I switched back to the classic editor. The only thing I was able to do in the new editor is add each image individually with no formatting capabilities like in the classic editor. In the classic editor you can select multiple images for the media library, click continue, and then format the layout among the following choices: individual images, thumbnail grid, square tiles, circles, tiled columns, and slide show. Then you click insert and all those images are inserted in the post formatted according to what you selected. Can you select multiple images and format the layout like this in the new editor?

  • @prmpsu I know what you’re referring to.

The team for the new editor is working on adding more gallery options, but in the meantime there is one gallery type available.

To use it, click the little round plus sign icon to add a new block, then pick Gallery. From there you can drag in some images to upload, or choose some from your media library.

As with all blocks, you’ll have some options available on the right. Again, right now we’ve just got the one type of gallery, but you can adjust how many columns it has or decide whether or not to crop your images.

Let us know if that helps!
