ADDING MX Records for Google Apps:

I am trying to add MX DNS Records for Google Apps to the DNS Editor but it will not save and constantly says that an error occurred and I need to contact support.
    Records are as follows:
    Type: MX
    Host: standoutsound.com
    Handled by: ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    Priority: 1

    Type: MX
    Host: standoutsound.com
    Handled by: ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    Priority: 5

    Type MX
    Host: standoutsound.com
    Handled by: ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    Priority: 5

    Type MX
    Host: standoutsound.com
    Handled by: ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    Priority: 10

    Type MX
    Host: standoutsound.com
    Handled by: ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
    Priority: 10

I have done this numerous times and it just won’t save. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong and how to correct it. Thank you.

@standoutsound The domain standoutsound.com currently has the correct DNS records for Google Apps.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Hello. I think I am having a similar problem. I added a CNAME record to map keynotespeakercatalfamo.wordpress.com to keynotespeaker.catalfamo.com and my Google Apps email (also on catalfamo.com) has ceased to work.

Sorry I did not mention that I have added the CNAME record on the website of the registrar (Namesecure.com) while I was attempting to modify the address of the wordpress blog as specified above.

I am afraid I messed up things because I do not understand exactly how these records work: what is the best way to make these changes?

Thanks all… just an update. All the above settings were correct but i could only save them by using a different admin account that I own, other than the main/default one. No idea why but it worked. Hope that helps anyway.

@giannicatalfamo, Adding a new CNAME record should not affect your Google Apps email.

In order to use the subdomain keynotespeaker.catalfamo.com with your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to add a CNAME record that points keynotespeaker.catalfamo.com to keynotespeakercatalfamo.wordpress.com

If you have any other questions, please let me know.
