Adding my blog to Google Search

I’m still a little unsure as to how a blog gets picked up by google. Does it happen automatically after a certain amount of time/hits?

even my blog does not appear in google and from what I have read here I understand that it takes time for it to pick it up but what I dont understand is why on earth mY post does not appear when I search it on wordpress after I log out.. I search bY post and it still does not show…
And just to be sure I dont have to do something on google or wordpress, in order for google to pick it up right..

It can take 4 -6 weeks for your posts to appear in search results. Please read these support documentation entries and proceed accordingly.

I started a blog a few days ago on WordPress and sure enough my first post appeared on Google the next day. However, my next two posts have not appeared after a few more days, what could have happened? Thank you for your advice.

Your blog is only three days old. Keep on updating and it will be listed in a week or two. Add it yourself too:

stressedoutidealist, many of my posts aren’t listed on Google either and it’s been two and a half years. It’s them, not you.

boomie0129, how long ago did you buy your domain? Because that could be the reason it’s taking longer if you just recently bought it. Because if your blog is really 8 months old, then it should already be listed a long time ago.

Google has definitely indexed your blog, as i can see.
Search in google with the below text
site:http://jaagruti.wordpress.com/
this will list all the indexed pages from your site.
Also register with google webmaster tools http://google.com/webmasters/tools to see what google is doing with your blog. Also read http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/ to know how to configure Google WebmasterTools with your wordpress.com blog.
