Also on posting stuff from other places. I don’t know if you are giving attribution or not (since I cannot read it), but if wordpress gets complaints from the owners of the material – the copyright holder – then your blog risks being deleted for a violation of the terms of service.

What you have to realize is that it takes some time for Google to figure out where to place you in searches, and it also takes time for you to build page rank so that you show up higher in Google searches. Typically this takes 6 months to as long as 2 years although most blogs, that get a fair number of hits will have reasonable placement after a year. There really isn’t anyway to shortcut the process.

WordPress.COM has a lot of search engine juice and they ping all the major search engines automatically for you each time you publish a post.

This website is where you can manually submit your blog to google. My blog was not showing up in google but after I placed my URL here it was searchable in minutes.

I would suggest using a complex unique phrase “blah blah blah” or whatever in your post and then search for that phrase in google with the quotes. When you come up yo uare indexed.
That’s much easier than the google webmaster thing for newbies as a starter.
