  My blog is near the top of the google rankings for numerous search terms. For example, if you search “Sony strategy”, I am on the first page (Sony’s New Strategy: Abandon a bias against “non-Sony” technologies).

  However, Google is driving almost no traffic to my site. Last week I had more than 40,000 visits to my blog, but according to “referrers” on my Dashboard, only one of them came from a Google search.

  The reason I mentioned the Google traffic is just so people realize that getting listed on Google in not the panacea you might think it is. I have 40 search terms in the top ten on Google and it means almost nothing to my web traffic. It is far more important to get people discussing your website on related forums. For example, I my traffic comes from sites like Gamasutra and Wired.com, not Google.

  I’ve had my blog online for a couple of months now, and it does have quite a bit of content. Still no show in Google for some reason though…
