  how can i add my picture to appear on my profile informaiton, and next to my post instead of a symbol?

  I have the same question, how do we add a photo to appear on our profile info …http://zumbacontracosta.wordpress.com

  Two, how do I amend my “About” area.

  Third, I chose my theme, Regulus because it’s on the list of Custom Header Image themes but when I go to my Dashboard-> Appearance, the option for Custom Header Image is not shown. Why?

  You are not currently using Regulus, and the theme you’ve chosen has no custom header option.

  In some themes the contents of the Profile page are displayed on an automatically generated About page. If that is not the case with the theme you’ve chosen, you just build and edit it like any other post or Page, including adding images.

  You’ll probably want to upload an Avatar, which is best done by going to http://gravatar.com and uploading it there. Then it works on WordPress.com and many other blogs around the web.
