Adding my site to Google Search

  I create a few posting on my blog 6 weeks earlier and I am still not been able to find my article right away when searched in Google Search

  What do I need to do?

  According to your profile, your blog is only 3 weeks old (you have only been a member for three weeks). It can take 4-6 weeks for the search engines to index your blog, but everytime you make a post, wordpress alerts them to that fact.

  You can perhaps speed up the process by verifying your blog with the search engines as explained in this support document.

  By the way, Bing has started indexing your blog.

  I have now been blogging for 5 weeks now; and have verified my blog with Google; but my blog still doesn’t come up in any Google search. Is there something else I should be doing?

  I just did a search for your site using the search term “http://passionfortheatre.wordpress.com/” minus the quotations and your posts came up in the search results as you can see by clicking this Google search result link

  Thank you. I knew that if I searched for the full name of my blog, it wld come up in Google search. But not if I searched for theatre, reviews, etc – my blog doesn’t come up – and not even when I search by the name of the play. Other word press blogs come up, however.

  It will take a long time for your blog to be found on searches that dont contain your blogs name, however around 6 months later (depending on amount of views) you should stsrt seeing your blog appear on less specific searches.

  Google search on “theatre, reviews” (no quotes) is only 84,600,000 hits

  If you have a new blog, then don’t be surprised if you can’t find it on Google or on Yahoo or Bing immediately. It can take from 4 – 6 weeks or more to add any new sites, but this post contains ten factors that expedite the indexing process. OMG!
