Adding New Author – Password Issue

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

I just added a new author to a new wordpress site that I set up with my account that hosts several different blogs. When my new author got the invite and clicked it, it asked him for the password. I can’t give him my password, since it would compromise my security. Is it possible to set up a different password for each user?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

When a person who does not have a WordPress.com account is invited to join a site as a user, the first time they click on the invite link in the email they received, they will have to create their own WordPress.com account. After creating the account, they will have to click on the invite link again in order to arrive at your site.

If they already have a WordPress.com account, they should log in first before clicking the link in the email.

Here’s an explanation on the different user roles and what they can do on your site and how to add a user to an existing site:

For security purposes, every user of WordPress.com must have their own username and password. Never give someone your login information.
