Adding new catagories
-
Alright, I click the + an add a new catagory. However when I hit add nothing happens. Why can’t I add new catagories? And why do the remain invisible after I hit add?

This is the kind of information that others can use to help you.
(1) The name of the theme you are using.
(2) How experienced (or not) you are with using wordpress.com technology.
(3) What you are indicating is the function for adding a category on the fly when you have a post under construction. Therefore I’m assuming you are new to wordpress.com.
(3) Here’s a walk through for adding categories in the standard way
-> dashboard -> manage -> categories -> add new -> (complete the information and then click) ->add category
Hope this helps. -
sometimes using different browsers help. i have problems with certain buttons in my dashboard that works if i switch browser.

@ timethief: You don’t read the post to often do you? I mean if you did, theoretically you wouldn’t have given me a stupid reply. Nevertheless, read this part: ” However when I hit add nothing happens.” I KNOW HOW TO ADD A FREAKEN CATEGORY. I said, it (the category) would not open instead it remains invisible. I want to know why do categories I add remain invisible? And how can I make them appear. Thank You.

@d3assdoor
If you know the process so well and it isn’t working then you would be reporting that through feedback, right?
You wouldn’t be on the forum FREAKING and acting rude. You wouldn’t be asking asking volunteers on the forum who do not have back-end access to your blog for help when you have a technical problem only sysadmin can fix, would you?
You wouldn’t be doing that because that wouldn’t be a very clever thing to do, would it? -
d3athsdoor – send me a feedback.
This is a known bug at the moment but it is only affecting a small number of people. That will explain why timethief and sulz responded as they did. As frustrated as you may be, politeness is expected though. -
Here’s a forum thread on the same subject http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=4156&replies=21

In what way does the cross referencing of two active forum threads for the time saving convenience of all reading either thread lead to an expression of disrespect?
-
Thanks to timethief for the cross referencing, as I’ve reported on the other thread, I experienced this problem on my Mac using Omniweb, which doesn’t support the latest version of the TinyMCE Rich Text editor .
I changed to using Firefox and have not had a problem adding categories since doing that.
Mac user (G4 iMac using OS X.4.8). I found references to the problem on the Omniweb user forums, so it might be useful for other sufferers to look on the relevant browser forum and see if the isue has been noted or confirmed. Good luck!

I am running IE 5.0 and still have problems adding categories. It allows me to enter new categories, and shows them on a post (if added on the fly), however, when the post is saved… the category does not show up (anywhere).
Podz has said they’re working on it. I think they should just temporarily delete our blogs and then we can import all of our posts/comments into a new one.
Reason I say this is because I created a secondary blog, and the categories work perfectly.
