adding new post – what has happened here?

    Just went to add new post via my dashboard and get a different unrecognisable page, mostly blank with just Add Title and something about Blocks? I would like my normal editing page back if possible? What has happened?

    Hi there,

    Our in-house version of the classic editor in My Sites has been retired completely from WordPress.com, so it’s no longer available for anyone to use.

    The block editor has been the default editor in the open source WordPress software since December 2018. We’ve been maintaining our own classic editor since then to give people time to make the transition, but it’s no longer feasible for us to continue doing that. So WordPress.com now also uses the block editor, same as the open source version of WordPress.

    If you prefer the feel of the classic editor, you can use the classic block:

    And if there’s anything that doesn’t work for you in the block editor, please let us know so we can investigate and get it fixed :)
