Adding New Subdomains

I contacted customer support last year about creating different sites for different comics and linking them all to the domain that I have with WordPress.com (bendycomics.com). rachelmcr informed me:
‘You can then set up Custom Menus on each site that link to the pages on the other sites. You can even use your custom domain to Map a Subdomain to the other site.
For example, your main site with your main page and ‘about us’ page could be at bendycomics.com with one theme. Then, you can set up your comics on a subdomain like comics.bendycomics.com and use the Panel theme there. The menu on your main site can include a link to comics.bendycomics.com so visitors can access your comics there. (You could even set up different sites for each comic, e.g. comic1.bendycomics.com and comic2.bendycomics.com, to keep them even more separate.)’
I am wondering how to create new subdomains to use. I want to have a few new subdomains (IFFF.bendycomics.com, superurban.bendycomics.com, and more). I have looked through the guides and options for subdomains, and none sound they cover this option.
Do I purchase and $18 option for example.bendycomics.com or use a $13 option to create example.bendycomics.com?

Adding new subdomains is definitely possible here at WordPress.com.
Using Rachel’s previous example of comic.bendycomics.com, you’d firstly need to create a new WordPress.com site here:
https://signup.wordpress.com/start/
Next step would be to add domain mapping to comic.bendycomics.com on your newly created WordPress site, for $13. This can be done via the Domains page:
As bendycomics.com is registered directly through WordPress.com, you won’t need to add any further records to your subdomain from here. You’ll be all set with comic.bendycomics.com. :)

Well, it looks like IFFF.bendycomics.com should be good to go. How long does it take the URL to work? Right now it goes nowhere, and I’m a little nervous.

Hi Andy.
Domain mapping’s that contain capitalisation cause some trouble, I’ve gone ahead to replace the existing mapping with ifff.bendycomics.com. If you clear your browser’s cache, you’ll be able to view your site at that address now. :)

I purchased quarterbin.bendycomics.com and accidentally transferred it to the superurbancomics.wordpress site. Now when I try to transfer it again to the correct site (quarterbincomics.wordpress), the transfer fails. Do I have to wait to try and transfer it again?
