Adding new theme

  I would like to learn how to add a custom WP theme to my account. I have already purchased the custom css package and have all the files for the theme, but do not know how to install and implement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I’m sorry, but themes can’t be uploaded to WordPress.com. That’s a feature of self-hosted blogs through WordPress.org.

  You may use any of the available themes we have under Appearance > Themes in your dashboard along with the Custom CSS Upgrade to customize them.

  Can you create a theme on wordpress? I really want to add the google friend connect to my blog, but it will not let me. It only displays the html code on my blog

  Yes, that level of customization is also a feature of self-hosted WordPress.org blog.

  At WordPress.com, you can only edit the CSS of a theme, and that’s only if you purchase the Custom CSS upgrade.

  so is there no way for me to add google friend connect to my blog? or any way were people can follow my blog without having to subscribe.

  No, and yes: they can subscribe via RSS instead of email.

  I’m new to wordpress.
  I have a WordPress.org account. I bought Genesis and want to apply it. When I
  go to Appearances-themes (as I have been told), I do not get a window to
  “install.” On the install window I am supposed to his the “upload” button to
  upload Genesis. When I hit Appearances-themes, I get the WP themes to select
  from. I thought with WordPress.org and a host (Bluesomething..that I have), I
  could upload Genesis.
  Any thoughts?

  @chrisgouzoules: If you have a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog, you are in the wrong forum. Please ask your question at http://wordpress.org/support

  @chris, this blog, http://http://chrisgouzoules.com/ , is not a self-hosted blog, it is hosted here at wordpress.COM. You have to actually install the wordpress.ORG software at the bluesomething host and then set up your blog over there. Then you can use the theme you bought.

  If this procedure is not something you feel you can do on your own, wordpress.COM has a new service ($99) where they will set things up and transfer everything over for you, but I do believe that you have to use one of their approved hosting companies.

  @airodyssey, I’m not certain you did misunderstand. Their username links to a .COM blog, but that does not mean that is the one they are talking about.
