  Please help. I want to set up a newsletter for my blog. How can I create a widget offering this option – that is, people click and enter their email address and are put into a newsletter mailing list.

  you could sign up with feedburner, get the code, put it to your sidebar, then your readers can read your latest posts through email if they sign up to your rss feed.
