adding paypal button to the side menu

  Hi there,
  I have been trying to add a donation paypal button to my blog. I have followed the instructions under Support and I managed to add it to the home page and it works great. But I want to add it to my side menu. All the Support mentions about this is that I have to add it as a text widget. I did that, and I see the button on the side, but I cannot link the paypal to the image. There are no instructions as to how to link it to the widget and I cannot figure it out. Does anyone know how to do it? Your help will be much appreciate it.
