Adding photo gallery or slide show to a free blog site

Is it possible to add more than one photo to each blog on a free site? I would like to insert photos (with captions and a short story) into the text, as well as have a photo gallery / slideshow associated with each, rather short blog. Or, do I need the paid site to do this?

Yes, you can add multiple images and slideshows/galleries to your posts and pages on a free site. (If you fill up the space that comes with a free site, you’ll see a message telling you to upgrade for more storage space so you can keep adding photos.)

I am have addition questions regarding the set up of my site and hope you might have time to help. I have read what I think are the relevant topics but can’t find the answers I need. This is probably because I do not understand a lot of what I am reading.I am using the standard theme, I think, but I seem to have messed it up somehow, as it looks nothing like what is shown in the WordPress documents. I want to remove the black area to the right of my blog pages, so as to fill most of the page with the blog text and photos. Can you explain how to do that please?
Also, if I installed another theme, such as Hueman, would that wipe out the current to blogs I have “published”?

The black area is a feature specific to your theme. It’s for widgets. You can see how it works in the demo:

No. You can change themes as often as you like and it will not delete any content. All the data will remain the same; only the appearance changes.

Unfortunately I require assistance again, but this time for a more technical issue.While attempting to upload another photograph for a new blog, my site locked up. The photos is rather small (291 KB JPEG) compared to what I have previously uploaded by would not load. So I tried to cancel the upload in several ways, resulting in being locked out of my site completely.
Can you help solve this problem please.

Are you still locked out? I can’t see any blocks for your username. What happens when you go to – https://wordpress.com? Are there any error messages?
Try clearing your browser cache and then visiting your site again.
I also checked your Media Library to see what might have caused the problem. I can’t see any issues there and you still have plenty of space. However your images are pretty huge. Make sure you resize them for the web before uploading.
