Adding photos to pages

I am very new to this… is there some trick that I’m missing?
I go to Edit Page.
I type in some text. I want to Add Image. I’ve uploaded it, but I can’t seem to get it to show up. I’ve dragged the “add image” icon to where I want it, but it isn’t working.

Hi – I just created a new blog and am having the exact same problem. I attempted to create a new post and uploaded an image to the media library…and then nothing happens when I click on the insert image button. I see the image in the library, but I get no options to choose it or drag it beyond that.
I should say I’ve tried this on a Mac using both Safari and Firefox. Am I missing something really simple?

You don’t drag and drop images to the editor. Toward the bottom of the “insert image window” there will be an “insert into post” button. That will send the image to the editor. If you are working on a laptop or a smaller screen, or at a lower monitor resolution, you might have to scroll down a little to get to the button. There should be a scroll bar at the side of the window that comes up when the image has uploaded.

I’m going to:
New Post > Add An Image > Gallery >
The only options I get are “Show” and “Save All Changes.” I see my image already uploaded and I can add details and choose the size to display, but there is no “Insert to Post” button as described. I’m going to try this on a PC and then get back.

Don’t go to gallery, go to new post > add an image > media library. Find the image you want to insert and then click the show button. There you will be able to choose alignment, size, and whether you want the image to link to the full-sized image, and then you can click the “insert into post” button. The Gallery is for inserting multiple image in a grid pattern into a post. It is a specialized thing.

Awesome! Now I see this option (from Media Library instead of Gallery)! :)
Please forgive the many posts related to the same issue. This is my first day playing around with my blog so I’m trying to get the hang of where features are. It’s AWESOME that people like you help out people like me. Thanks again thesacredpath! :)
