Adding picture credits discretely
-
Hi all,
I’m trying to incorporate image credits for my header into my blog. The best way I’ve found so far is a sticky post using certain options (e.g. comments disabled) to make it as unobtrusive as possible, but it still looks a bit clunky.
Anyone have any better solutions? It’d be handy if I could keep my strapline, and a theme not too dissimilar to what I use now (Pilcrow).
Thanking ye,
DannyThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Does your theme have a sidebar or will you tolerate it’s use? If so put the credits in a plain text widget in the sidebar (or you could put it in a text widget in a footer widget area)
You could also watermark the photo credit onto the image and upload the image again – small type in a lower corner should not look too bad

Thanks – I’m giving the sidebar widget a go.
Would watermarking count as an infringement of “no image manipulation”?

Yes, it certainly would. You could, however, put the picture on a background colour and put text on that border that shows as a result.

good point on the “no image manipulation” @RC – I would have thought the original copyright holder would have accepted that – but the border is a nice way to do it also – thanks
