p.s the blog posted above is NOT the blog I need help with. I paid for the domain name, not the free one so ignore that please

  • What is your actual domain name? I tried amomwifeboss.com and got a HostGator error page?

I show this blog as having the Sela theme. And it seems that the Vogue theme is not one of the themes provided at WordPress.com. If you are running this on a self-hosted site, you should post your question in the wordpress.org forums.

That said, have you looked at the documentation for the theme? And tried everything in the Customizer? If that doesn’t work, I’d suggest that you post a request here: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/vogue. That’s the support page for the theme.

    Good luck!

These forums are primarily for wordpress.com users. I’d suggest that you post your questions in the wordpress.org forums.

my domain name is amomwifeboss.com and I use hostgator for hosting and wordpress.com to design my actual blog. can you please tell me the error code so I can reach out to hostgator. also what kind of device are you using?
I have not announced my blog is live to anyone yet as it is not ready and I would really like there zero issues when I do tell people about it. yay another issue. :/

also thank you for the support page for that theme, I guess I will do some digging around and see what the heck is going on.

  • First, your site came up fine this time. I didn’t pay attention to the error message that I got before but it looks great now!

Second, for clarification, you cannot use wordpress.com to design a site hosted at HostGator. You have installed the self-hosted version (wordpress.org) of WordPress on HostGator’s servers and that is where you are actually working on your site. If this is still confusing, you can find more information here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/.

Having no knowledge of the Vogue theme but having worked with many others, I’d conjecture that changing the stock images is probably more obvious than you realize. Poke around. Read through any tutorials that the theme authors have put together. Make sure that you have set everything up properly and included all of the suggested plug-ins. If, after all of that, you are still having difficulties, post a request in the theme forum as I suggested or contact the authors directly. Most theme authors are pretty helpful!

Finally, from one who has been there and thought the same thing about waiting until it’s “ready” … There will never be a perfect time and it will never be finished. This will always be a work-in-progress because you will always find things that you want to improve or fix. Take some time to get it presentable, start writing, and share it with people. At the end of the day, it’s all about the content anyway! Have fun!
