Adding pix move post from center to right column

    I was editing a post in Mistylook theme, adding photos. When I completed the edit and looked at site, I found that my post had moved from center to the right bar. Evidently I did something with the CCS, but have no idea what. I printed out the html for the Sept 1, 2009 post “Lets sleep on it” that appears inccorrectly in the right column and compared it with the the Oct 6, 2009 post “Tammy Ellison thanks guild..”, which is correctly in the center column.

    Since I don’t know html, I have no idea what to look for to determine the problem. Could someone please help me get this blog looking like it should? I have delayed my monthly updates to this quilting guild site for 5 months because I don’t know how to resolve this and am discouraged.

    I could delete this entry and write a new one, but then the order of appearance would be wrong , not a good thing as this blog is for my quilting guild.

    Typically this happens due to an HTML error in a post, but possibly not in the one that moved to the sidebar.

    Go to settings > writing and check “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click save.

    Next open each post in the editor, switch from the Visual tab to the HTML tab and then back again and then click update post. Do that with each post on your main page until the issue goes away.

    The change at settings > writing should keep this from happening in the future.

    That seems to have fixed the posts location–they are now in the central column. Thank you so much for this tip!

    However, I can see all my posts over several months in the central column. I have archives, and I can also get to old posts through the archives. But shouldn’t only the posts from the current/most recent month be shown on the home page, with previous posts seen only in monthly archives?

    Glad that worked for you. It typically does.

    Under settings > reading, there is a setting so that you can control how many posts show on the main page of the blog. You can set it to only display 1, or you can set it to display 50 or more.
