Adding Plugins, Moving Website, Fixing Calendar

    Hi,
    So I recently installed, through the text widget, a bit of code from my Google Calendar. The problem is that it doesn’t show events on it and visitors are required to click the google button at the bottom of it to add my calendar to theirs. I was hoping for an easy way for viewers to see what’s coming without having to click on the calendar, follow the link, have a google account, and then see it. The only way I’ve found to do that is by using a plugin. But as far as I’m aware I need to transfer my site since it is still hosted through WP. Is that correct? the TlDR version is this:
    1. Is there a way to have a calendar actually show events in the sidebar?
    2. To use plugins do I need to move my website off of WP?
    3. Will going premium provide the same thing and is that better than transferring?
    4. Can someone point me in the direction of an easy step-by-step for transferring if that is indeed what needs to be done?
