Adding pop ups to my site

  I’m using a free template for a non profit organisation. I need to know if it’s possible to add a pop up (to advertise an upcoming event) and if yes, how do I do that please?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi retinasawesterncape,

  We don’t have any themes that support pop-ups but there are a couple of ways you could promote the event on your site.

  1. Place a Text Widget in a prominent position in the sidebar:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

  2. Create a ‘sticky post’ about the event. Sticky Posts will be displayed above all of your other posts:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/#sticky-posts
