Adding Portfolio Filter to the home page

On the Swell theme, work can be displayed in an animated portfolio filter with different subheadings to filter your projects. This is currently on a separate page to the homepage. How do you move this feature to be a part of your homepage – i.e. to have a one-page site that incorporates your work in a section of this site?

Moreover – is this particular menu system available for all themes, or just a feature of the Swell theme?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

How do you move this feature to be a part of your homepage

The feature is apparently set on a selected page by choosing the Portfolio Page Template in Page Attributes. You make it the homepage by choosing to display a static page, specifically one assigned to Portfolio Page Template, as your front page at Settings > Readings.

Moreover – is this particular menu system available for all themes, or just a feature of the Swell theme?

I think the “animated” portfolio filtering system is unique to Swell at this time.

Thank you for helping – does the portfolio page allow all the same features as the homepage? I essentially want a one-pager that displays the home page as it is plus one section that includes the animated portfolio filter. Would the suggested change allow this?

    Yes.
    Why?
    1. Any page can be assigned to Portfolio Page Template on a theme which has this option.
    2. On this theme, pages with that template assigned have the special filtering system included.
    3. Any page at all can be selected as your homepage (on any WordPress.com website), including the super duper Portfolio Page Template page with “animated” portfolio filtering system.

    I hope I’m not wrong.
