Adding posts through using the email facility
-
I run this for my cycling club.
https://thanetrc.wordpress.com/
Many of the committee are not very tech savvy and so we use the special email address so various committee members can add posts.
This has worked very well …
However, recently some emails that have been sent to the “magic” address have appeared as posts on the page but the body content of the email has gone missing leading to a blank post …
Any ideas what is going wrong? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Dunno …. one of the reasons I chose to use .com rather than .org with my own host was because I didn’t want to have to maintain the install and fix bugs…
-
I think I have sussed it but not tested it …
I think it is to do with mail format.
Sometimes I suspect the email client changes the mail format when you cut and paste stuff in without you noticing and then if the email format isn’t HTML or Rich Text the WP system does not process it correctly and cuts off the body.

Hi!
You can get attention from a staff member by typing ‘modlook’ on the tag area. I just did this. This link explains it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question
Just be patient and they will answer your questions as soon as possible :)

Thank you @barefootcountess :)
@thanetrc and @gkamienesk, we’ve submitted a fix for this issue. Can you confirm it’s working for you now?
-
Thanks – it isn’t easy to test as I have 500 followers and I don’t want to spam them out as I test this feature.
What was the issue?
I was guessing that the mail format was the culprit …

We’ve had others confirm it works now with various formats, so you should be fine now. As long as you’re using valid formatting, it should have worked before. We’ve fixed the bug that caused this.
