Adding posts to my home page

I have the theme that I am happy with but am stuck and could really do with some help.

It’s that I have my home page but it just has a single entry, like a welcome to the site?

What I want is to be able to make it look all neat like other blog themes I have seen where you can have four or more posts on your home page.

    I found this article:

    https://www.webmechanix.com/how-to-add-posts-to-pages-in-wordpress-tutorial/#new-template

It is absolutely way too advanced for me and beyond my concentration and/or capabilities.

There must be a way of doing this without using the CSS?

If so, please could someone help me design what I desire please for my home page.

    My theme is Dyad 2.

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

… so anyway I thought I’d TRY and understand it myself.

I created a category called HOME, made a welcome post in it, added it to the MENU, changed the custom link giving it the new one and now when you click HOME do you think the post can be seen? No, all it does is direct me to some place else – it mader sense to me so the question now must be, as I set the new HOME as defualt and it did precisely nothing, can you make a category as a home page and add posts to it?

    Hi,

It’s that I have my home page but it just has a single entry, like a welcome to the site?

What I want is to be able to make it look all neat like other blog themes I have seen where you can have four or more posts on your home page.

The site https://calling-the-shots.com/ presently has four posts displayed on the homepage, not one. On larger screens, such as my PC monitor, they are displayed in two columns of two. On mobile devices with small screens they display in a single column. The difference is due to the responsiveness of the theme and the size of the screen on which the site is viewed.

I notice that even though your 2019 archive page includes dozens of posts, and indicates that the posts per page setting* is “10” (ten), the homepage only displays four posts and the “Older Posts” link doesn’t add more. For this reason I’ve called for staff attention.

    * The posts per page setting may be found at My Site(s) > Settings > Writing > Content types. The number can be changed by simply clicking on the up/down arrows. When you’ve reached the desired number, save the change. See the Content Types section of the Writing Settings support page for relevant instructions and illustration.

Note that this setting not only affects the blog page, but also all archives pages such as year, month, and date archives, category and tag archives, author archives, etc.
