Adding posts to Pages
-
Right one more question. Say I have a guest poster. I post their article using the appropriate categorie under the correct author, this is surely going to stay on my front page though unless I make my front page static, and navigation is purely by categories. or am I completely confused now?
-
Mike you cannot assign categories to a static page.
Categories can only be assigned to posts. -
as if I needed to be a computer genius to get my head around it!
no, not really about computers, but more about organization and logic.

Okay Timethief, I think I get it. I’ll have to have a try, and see what happens before I can comment further.

Your goal is to have regular readers every day and what is on your home page melts into archives soon enough (if you post regularily). It really won’t be a problem to have a guest post up for a short time. (or a post of your own talking about the guest post.)
Regular readers want to see new stuff. Or to dig into your articles (if they are not time-related) via categories. -
I agree with tt: too many cooks and too many echos and simultaneous posts for one night.
Think and discuss later… -
Well I will have a try, you’ve all been helpful, thank-you very much.
All the best, Mike.
