    Hi – for the featured image area (at top) I want to have just images – no text wit them. But when I go to make a post for a featured image, it won’t let me publish the post unless I have text in it. Is there a way around it?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello there,

    for the featured image area (at top) I want to have just images

    I have done a test with your Dyad 2 theme on my own test site, and if you would like to just have an image showing in the Header area, you can do so, in the Customizer>Header Image area. Also, make sure that you don’t have a tag line for you site otherwise it will show here. You can remove the tag line in Customizer>Site Identity> Tag Line, and delete a the tag line if you created one.

    See here for the information I found in your theme overview: https://wordpress.com/theme/dyad-2

    Alternate Header Images

    If no posts have the Featured Content tag that you set in the Customizer, Dyad 2 will display your tagline over the Custom Header Image if one was uploaded. A Custom Header Image can be uploaded by going to Customize → Header Image.

    In your theme this is the only way to display a image at the top, without text. The featured image/ post option you are trying would require an upgraded plan, using CSS customization to remove the title from the post’s featured image. See here for more on CSS customization: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/

    Hope this helps to answer your question. If you require any further help, please let me know :)

    Hi there – that makes sense and I understand about how I can do one image as the header without text, but I still want to have 6 images that rotate-which the theme allows for. I have the premium plan, so I can add CSS. Do you have any idea on what CSS I could add?

  • @statestreetinteriors1

    Custom CSS is only available for Premium and Business Plans, see here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/css-support-in-live-chat/

    Also, if you have an upgraded Plan, you have direct support from the Happiness Engineers available to you with your plan as well: https://wordpress.com/help/contact

    CSS is not a strong suit for me, however here is a link to the custom CSS support page if you want to ask about CSS in case you want to upgrade to Premium and ask the question first to see if it can be done and look how you would like: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

    Hope this helps to guide you in the right direction with the CSS customization!

    Hi @statestreetinteriors1,

    I just wanted to add to what @amandasjackson said, and possibly clarify the way the Dyad 2 theme works.

    I still want to have 6 images that rotate-which the theme allows for.

    This theme allows for a featured image slider on the home page only. It is not set up to have a slider on the individual blogs or pages headers.

    Instructions for setting up the home page image slider (which is made up of featured images from various blog posts) is here: https://wordpress.com/theme/dyad-2. See the first section, “Featured Content Slider”.

    I hope this answers you questions about the blog page headers.

  • You can remove the text on the featured-content slider in Dyad 2 with this custom CSS:

    .featured-content .site-banner-header {
      display: none;
    }
