Adding sidebars
-
This is a very simple question and which will probably get me laughed out of town. I’m new to WordPress & I have looked on the FAQ’s and haven’t found the definitive answer. I just want to add a sidebar to my blog- that simple but I can’t find how/where to do it. I found on one of the FAQ’s someone said to go to Presentation > Widgets – but I’ve been there but cant’ see how to add a new sidebar. It didn’t give me that option. I’ve search all round the site from manage/themes/design but I cant find what I’m looking for. Any ideas?
Many thanks good people.

The site linked to your username is not a WordPress.com one, so I think you may be in the wrong forum and need to be over at WordPress.org.

Just to put the record straight the username Tommigooner70 is a WordPress.com one not .org. The question still stands, many thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

If it’s a WP.com blog, you can’t just add a sidebar. You must choose a theme with the required number of sidebars. This goes even for people with CSS skillz and the Custom CSS upgrade using Sandbox: that’s why it comes in so many different iterations.
