  hi, is it ok to add sites not hosted by wordpress? I’ve added two but removed them and thought i should ask first to be sure. thanks!

  Adding them where – exactly?

  Are you referring to self-hosted wwordpress.ORG sites added via the Jetpack plugin?

  I don’t know that jetpack thingy I keep hearing about.. Lolz!
  on your profile, when you want to add sites, say to help a friend boost their blog, their blog link will show up somewhere on your WordPress.com blog posts… like the Facebook and twitter button, if you add them. Can i really add them even if the blog is not by WordPress, say, popcorn.com (imagined) or something…

  Yes, you can create a blogroll or related sites no matter where they are hosted. You can create a Blogroll in your Dashboard http://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/add-a-blogroll-link/ and then display it by installing the Links widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/
