Adding social media icons to header

  I’m running the Gateway theme, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to add social media icons (Facebook, Twitter, Google +) to the header somewhere using CSS (where each icon is linked to the site’s respective social media profile).

  I know how to write the HTML (images with embedded links), but not how to make it appear in the header using CSS.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That’s not exactly possible, though there are some themes that do feature social media buttons at the top, like this one: https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/rowling/

  Another option is to put links to your social media profiles in your main navigation menu at:

  https://wordpress.com/menus/
