Adding Social Media Icons to the Forever Theme
-
Hi,
I’m currently using the Forever Theme and was wondering how do I add smaller social media buttons on the side bar? I’d like them horizontal in a row with the link-ups.
Here’s my blog: http://lovelyandcozy.com/ As you can see, I have the social media icons added in the text form, but they are much too large! And not lined up properly.
Thank you in advance!

Hi there.
I’m currently seeing some small social media icons lined up side-by-side in your sidebar. Did you manage to resolve this? If not, we have some guidance for adding social media icons to your site’s sidebar area here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/add-social-media-buttons-to-your-sidebar-or-footer/
From that page, you’ll get to our Social Media Widgets site which has HTML examples for you to include in your widget:
https://socialmediawidgets.wordpress.com/
Within the HTML, you’ll see values for width and height that can be adjusted to your needs.
Hope that helps! Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you’d like me take a look at the HTML you already have in place and if you’re trying to change things further.

Hi,
Yes, I managed to figure it out by adding the social media icon widget – I can’t believe I never saw that before.
Thank you for the provided links and response! Right now, I’m just slowly trying to figure out how to edit my CSS (I’m hearing if I can do this, I can customize colour schemes and font-title?)

Ah, great. :) We only rolled that widget out to WordPress.com on the 17th April, so you may have just missed the announcement post.

That’s right! WordPress.com Premium comes with Custom Design options that enable you to experiment with different fonts, colour schemes, and custom CSS. You can find more information on that plan here:
CSS, in particular, enables to to further customise your site’s design and is a really great skill to learn. You can find more about how it works with WordPress.com in this guide:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
Let me know if you have any extra questions around that. I’ll be happy to help further.
