Adding some form of instant chat box into WordPress

  A small chat box somewhere so people can speak direct?
  Where you can only talk to people you follow?

  I think this would be brilliant idea.
  How hard to do, I don’t know.

  In the past there were chatboxes we could use, at present there are none. Chatboxes are Javascript widgets and Javscript widgets present security risks to us as our blogs are not independent. They share a common architecture and security is a major issue.

  That said, despite the fact there no chatboxes, message boards, forums or wikis that you can embed into a free hosted WordPress.com blog, because there is no FTP access and we cannot upload plugins, you have three free workaround forum options: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/04/23/wordpress-com-forum-options/
