Adding Space between paragraphs.
-
I want to a) turn off Rich Text Editor – the instructions under the ‘help’ button on the post screen are inaccurate. It says “If you do not like the way the rich editor works, you may turn it off from Your Profile submenu, under Users in the admin menu.” There is no “Your Profile” submenu under Users in the admin menu. There is only “my profile” and that does not have a way to turn off Rich Text Editor.
2) What I really want is to add spacing between paragraphs. I’ve read all the questions and answers and they all seem to deal with changing the spacing between line from either single or double. I want to add several line between paragraphs. So I can adjust the spacing when I use pictures. Essentially I want to control what my post looks like not the site or some pre-create format or notion that blog post must look a certain way. I want my own control over this. How do I add as many spaces as I want between paragraphs? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Adding extra space between paragraphs requires coding in the so-called Text editor.
But I suspect that what you really want is to limit the wrap-around effect of left or right aligned images. This again requires coding, but it’s not done by adding extra space between paragraphs.
Link to a specific post please and tell us what exactly you’d like to change. -
Thanks for the response – here’s the blog:

Actually, I really do just want to know how to add lines – that and turn of the rich editor like the help message said I can. I don’t actually want to limit the wrap around, I think it’s cool, but I do want to be able to tweak it at time, but I really just want to know how to add lines.
Thanks

a) By “limit” I didn’t mean eliminate: I meant that many users ask about adding lines while what they actually want is to make some text wrap around an image and force the rest below the image.
b) If you don’t mean this, and you really mean more space between paragraphs, see this post of mine:
http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/06/10/formatting-text-pt-1/c) Where exactly are you seeing that message?

Thanks for the info.
The part about turning off rich text was a quote I cut and pasted from the help message. If you are working on a post in the visual mode, there is a question mark in a dark grey circle on the right end of the bottom row of formatting buttons. If you click that and scroll down what I quoted is the last sentence of the help message.

Oh I see. I was puzzled because at first you said the help button “on the post screen” and I thought you meant the one at the top right corner.
Anyway: the message is outdated – that option has been removed. You can simply toggle Visual/Text.
(Except outdated, the message is also poor, because the Visual editor isn’t really WYSIWIG: WYS is generic, WYG depends on the theme you’re using.) -
Glad it wasn’t me being completely daft. :-P
Thanks for the help, I’ve bookmarked the page for future use.
