Adding specific posts to specific pages

  I want a way to specify which posts goes on which pages so that I can add posts from specified categories to (a) particular page(s). Is that possible with a WordPress.com theme (Twenty sixteen) or will it be necessary for me to Purchase a Premium Plan to
  activate CSS customization?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The easiest option is to assign catefories to your posts and the resulting category pages can then by placed on the menu. No upgrade in plan needed.

  Super! There is another option that uses a display posts shortcode – I like category pages, but if you are wanting to display certain posts on pages that already have content, the shortcode might be useful…. it offers a variety of options ..
