Adding sponsors to my blog page.

Good evening. I have been asked about adding sponsors to my blog. I have attempted to research and see if I can do this on my blog but I’m getting mixed answers. Am I allowed to have sponsors pay to advertise on my blog or do I need to upgrade my blog page? Thanks!

Sorry to bother you again, but I’ve been looking at other WordPress blogs and some of those bloggers have advertisers. I write a beer blog and would like the local microbreweries and pubs to advertise on my blog. Are these other WordPress blogs different than mine? I read the link you sent and I’m still confused. What you’re either seeing are our ads on WordPress.com blogs or ads on self-hosted WordPress.org blogs.
Ads cannot be added by users to WordPress.com blogs.
