adding still pictures to blog

  Frequently, I find a picture I want to use in a blog on-line. Today I found a picture of Cliff House in Ayres Cliff 1909. I saved it to my desktop but when I got the point where I should have been able to add it to my media library, it said as usual that this type of file was not allowed. What am I missing?

  Hi Joyce,

  Only the image file types .jpg/.jpeg, .gif, and .png can be uploaded to your media library. (You can also find that list here: Images)

  If the picture you saved to your desktop is in a different file format from the ones listed above, it can’t be uploaded as it is to your media library. If you have the picture in an accepted format, you’ll be able to upload it.

  Some image editing programs give you the option to save pictures in different formats. For example, in Preview on a Mac you can go to File > Export and select the file format from a dropdown list when you save it. If you save the image in one of those accepted formats, you should be able to upload it to your media library.
