Adding student logins

    Hello,
    As a teacher am I allowed to create student logins within this website?
    Does this platform allow the teacher to access to student websites to monitor posts etc. Is there a limit on how many students I can add to my site (teacher classroom site)? I have 115 students.

    Hi, I see that this thread was marked as a duplicate, but it has more information than your other forum post you started.

    I’m not sure that WordPress.com is going to be the correct platform for what you want to do.

    Every student could start their own WordPress.com website, but unless they invite you to their site as an Admin, you would not be able to monitor their posts. In other words, there’s no “super admin” for multiple sub-WordPress.com sites. You’d have 115 sites you’d need to be added to.

    If you set up a single WordPress.com website and invite all your students to become a user (Editor, Author, Contributor) on your site, you’d only be able to invite 10 students at a time.

    You might want to look at Edublogs instead. https://edublogs.org/

    Hi,

    I know many teachers that have done what @justjennifer suggested with their classrooms. The students have created individual sites, and the teacher was added as an administrator to those sites to monitor them.

    You can try it with a few of your students and see if it works for you or not.

    I’m not exactly sure what you meant here, so I’m hoping you can clarify, or possibly give an example? On our end we do not have a specific way to “link” sites together as a connected group, but you could do something that mimics that by setting up a custom menu (or sidebar widget) on the “main site” that has links to all student sites.

    You would need to set that up manually however, there is not a way to set it up automatically on our end.
