Adding stuff to different menus
-
I have created several menus for different sections I want to have on my website but I can’t just seem to have something go to that tab drop down like for example I have a blog post and I have different menus like blog post weekly post OOTD’s and so if I make a OOTD then I want it to go to there and not to blog post how do I make it where that post will go to where I want it to go
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Automatically adding individual posts directly to the menu isnot possible, and I also don’t recommend doing it manually: Site menus are intended for pages, not blog posts, and adding all your blog posts to the menu will end up breaking your site once you add enough of them.
Instead, you can assign categories to your posts, and then add the categories to the menu. Clicking on a category in the menu will then take someone to the category archive page, listing only posts published in that particular category.

To be clear, the menu won’t contain any links to individual posts. It will contain links to the category archive pages, and people will go to that archive page to see the actual posts.
Keep in mind that this won’t prevent posts from still appearing on the main Blog page as well – a WordPress site only has one posts feed, and all posts published on a site goes to that feed, regardless of whether or not the post also appears on a category archive page.
Let me know if you have any questions.
