adding sub category to a page

i’m using duster, from twenty-ten and have tried to add a post to a page other than my blog page but it doesn’t work. under my page “nav notes” i want to have separate posts for the different places we sail to. i don’t want it to post in the blog page. how do i do that? thanks for your help.

oops i just realized i explained it wrong. i have a page called “nav notes” and i want to have sub categories under that page so each sub category stands alone, rather than a running view of posts. does that make sense?

Yes, it’s a common thing. Use a Custom Menu to separate your posts out by categories. Here are instructions:
