adding tags without editing

I would like to add tags to posts without resending notices over and over. I find that the suggested tags that you see after you publish are often good ideas, and I would like to add them without sending the notifications to subscribers (and reposting to facebook) each time.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Editing a post will not resend the post to a subscriber. If it is being subscribed to in an rss feed, it will likely be marked “changed” or “edited” in some way by the rss reader. You needn’t worry that changing the post on the blog and clicking “update” will suddenly spam your readers with duplicate posts.
I go back and edit all kinds of things in my posts — everything from ungainly sentences to adding a tag or two — and I subscribe to my own blog so that I always see what it is that subscribers see, and I have never had an edited post show up in my email inbox, nor does the rss feed for my posts suddenly show an old post that I’ve newly edited.

Thank you! and the best thing is the idea of subscribing to myself… I have done similar elsewhere, why didn’t I think of that here?
