Adding text over header image in karuna theme

  I’m trying to add text over the header image for the website I’m starting for my non-profit (it hasn’t been published yet). I’ve tried to find how to do this using CSS, but I can’t seem to find anything. Does anyone know how to add text over the header image in the karuna theme?

  Hi there!

  Adding text with CSS may not always be possible, where exactly do you want to add that text, and what would be its function?
  You may want to think about an alternative, like adding the Cover Block instead:

  https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/cover-block/

  Another way could be adding the text over the image before uploading it, although I wouldn’t recommend this as the image will get cropped on smaller screens and may hide the text.

  I’d like to overlay the header image with text. Is that possible with the cover block?

  No, the header image is just an image, it cannot have an overlay in this case.

  No, that would require more of a structural change beyond CSS.
