Adding text to a grid page

  Hello! looking to see how i can add text above or below the grid area. the theme i am using is Maisha, and it seems that by default, the text goes on top of the feature image. For example on my charter page, i want to example that charter department but at the bottom i want the grid to have the aircraf that we have for charter.

  Hi there, I see your site is in maintenance mode right now, but on the Maisha demo site, “Donate for charity & stop the war text, right below the main featured image, is a separate page set with the “full background image page template”. It is assigned to First Content Block at Customize > Theme Options > Front Page. See if that will work for you.

  Thank you for this information! Sorry should have been more clear. I got my front page to do it like that but i was curious about the actual pages but the front page. Yes not ready to make my site live yet, but let me know if you are needing in out of mx mode.

  On pages other than the main page, if you set a featured image for that page, the page text content will appear over the top of the featured image on pages set to the Grid or Full Background templates. It would be best to keep the content short so that it doesn’t run outside the borders of the image. You might give that a try.

  Yes i have done, i am wondering if it is possible to make it so the text does not show up on the featured image but rather below in the main text area (where the grid) starts.

  That would be difficult to do with CSS since the height of the image changes a bit depending on screen/window width and due to the CSS that we would have to use to do that.

  It could be done by creating a Child Theme and then modifying the html. It is a complex to do that, but it can be done.

  You can read about it on the link I provided. Basically it is a theme that relies on the basic structure of the parent theme, but allows you to make html/php code changes without affecting the original theme. The reason that is important is that if you modify the original theme, your changes will be overwritten the first time the theme is updated. With Child Themes, that does not happen since your changes are separate from the parent theme.
