Adding text to footer..
-
Hi all…
I am @ http://whatitees.com and I have a paid CSS upgrade.I wanted to know if I can add text to the already existing one for the footer which shows right down – “Blog at wordpress.com | Theme by Sadish”.
While I know I can make it disappear with the “display:none;” line, however I do not wish to do that; instead I just want to add some words such as “tweaked by so & so”..something like that. In the CSS, I do not see any place where I can do that…
any ideas anyone please?
Thanks a lot!

I am guessing I cannot do it, because it is embedded in the HTML of the theme, and I cannot touch that.
-
Sure you can. I’ve done exactly that. If you search the forums, you’ll find the answer on how to do it.

Thanks for the reply Vivianpaige…but I did search the forums…and I did find one of the topics..but I saw it was related to wordpress.org, as the person had access to the php code to modify the text. Also, I did check the blog page you have ( clicking on your name in the forum here), but I do not see any additional text to the footer you have on your page…maybe I am looking at the wrong one..will try and search more…thanks..

Um, are you not seeing “Styled by Vivian J. Paige” in my footer? And yes, it is in the forums because that’s how I learned how to do it.

Just an aside – I am not sure if you have noticed, but when i check it in IE, I do not see the “styled by..”. However FF shows me that..you might want to check it yourself…
-
Yep VivianPaige…I found the answer…in fact I came across your posts which gave me the solution..:)..thanks!
But I also see that it does not work for IE, but FF is fine…
Wonder why that is… -

:)..very subtly put…but apart from this very real reason, I’d still like to find out…if I do, shall put it here…but thanks for the help anyways!

It’d be nice if you could post a link to the URL of the post where you found the answer. ;)

caniwrite – if you look at the pseudo-elements in CSS, you’ll find that IE doesn’t display a number of them. That’s just the nature of CSS. IE isn’t completely CSS compliant.

@VivianPaige : Ah..ok..i guess i need to be a little more CSS compliant to understood such things in depth..:)..but thanks for the tip..
@Fairportrack : Sorry for that..i should have posted the link..but am glad you found it..i shall keep this in mind henceforth.. -
How can I upload the following code below in the footer section of my blog . Anyone can help me with this.Thanks .
<script type=”text/javascript”>
<!–
naa_siteid=”1225763572″;
naa_sitename=”pay2play”;
naa_test=”no”;
naa_keywords=””;
naa_noads=””;
demoads=”no”;
//–>
</script>
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://aa.voice2page.com/naa_1x1.js”></script> -
You cannot. First, you do not have access to the underlying theme files which is where that would have to go, and second, javascript is not allowed on blogs hosted here at wordpress.COM due to security concerns.
