    Hello there!

    I would like to add some text right bellow my header (picture) or be able to display the full content of my “ABOUT” page on my static home page.

    Could someone help me? PLEASE!

    Thank you in advance.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.

    However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, and know that static front pages are traffic killers, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. To do that you need to create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

    After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

    Set the Homepage

    Thanks for the response.

    I set my blog to display pages (not post.)

    I already have what you are mentioning.

    Could you please look into it and let me know if its possible to display the full length of a page on my front page using CSS?

    Thank you for your time

    I’m sorry I did not understand you. The theme is designed to display excerpts only. Look here http://minaolendemo.wordpress.com/

    Themes that provide automatic post excerpts on the front page followed by read more links can be made to display full post through use of the excerpt box below the editor. See here please http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/excerpts/

    Hi there, the following will allow you to add some text above the about section and below your header image. You can add styling to the following rule to change font-size, or make it bold, etc. You can edit the text in the content declaration. I would not add too there since this type of addition isn’t really meant for large blocks of text. Try this as a start and then we can work from there.

    #post-1 .wrapper-inner:before {
        content: "This is some text above my about section that I can edit and add to as I want.";
        display: block;
        margin-bottom: 20px;
    }

    Hi, thank you for your response. It was very helpful!

    I was able to display the amount of information I wanted it.

    The problem now is that it repeats on top of every featured page.
    Could you help me with that?
    Also, I would like to change the background color of that section or have it look different then the bottom section.
    As well, it is not responsive.

    PLUS,
    Is there a way to simply display the full content of my about page? or that is not possible? Display content of only one featured page?

    Let me know.

    Thank you, once again!

    Ah, then let’s target the home page by prefacing the selector we were using with the home page specific body class as below.
    .home #post-1 .wrapper-inner:before

    It looks quite nice by the way. Nice job of styling it. I would change things just a little so that you maintain the responsive nature of the theme.

    Change your width declaration to 100% and then add a max-width declaration with the 1000px so that it looks like this.

    .home #post-1 .wrapper-inner:before {
        border: 1px solid gray;
        content: "Set in the heart of our six-acre farm, La Cocina Que Canta (“The Kitchen That Sings!”) celebrates the magical results of cooking with just-picked organic ingredients. The colors, aromas, and tastes that emanate from La Cocina are nothing short of amazing. Your sensory experience combines with the camaraderie and energy that occurs when you cook side-by-side with great teaching chefs. Working together, each class creates and dines on a delightful meal—an unforgettable culinary memory.";
        display: block;
        margin-bottom: 50px;
        padding: 50px;
        max-width: 1000px;
        width: 100%;
    }

    Hi again!

    I was wondering if I could add a link to a page on the text I recently added.

    I know you add links with html, yet I just wanted to check if there is a way around.

  • Hi there,

    That’s not possible as far as I know; however, you could certainly add one to the same text in the text widget you have in your footer.
