Adding the authors name to a blog post…

  I was wondering how you can get an authors name added to a blog post. I’ve been going through all the settings and haven’t found anything on it.

  Also, I was wondering if it was possible to do the same with avatars as well.

  Thank you.

  P.S. If I can do this without editing the CSS would be best.

  (1) Some themes automatically display authors names and others do not. Some themes have authors pages templates in them others do not. This is in accord with the designer’s choice. There are theme reviews you can use to find this feature http://engtech.wordpress.com/tools/wordpress/wordpress-theme-reviews/
  You also could create an authors category and a sub-category for the name of each individual author. Then when posts are created they can be assigned as appropriate.
  The last alternative is to have each author provide a by-line on the posts he or she makes.

  (2) The option of having avatars on blog posts does not exist at this time. Avatars are an in-hose thing.

  (3) Css customization does not allow you to edit the underlying theme template, it only allows for style sheet adjustments to to alter appearance.
