Adding the Liebster Award to DePo Masthead Blog Sidebar

I’ve been trying all week. I am having problems placing the Liebster Award to my sidebar. What kind of code do I need for the Text Widget? I tried the Image Widget, but I can’t even move that over to my existing widgets. My blog is in DePo Masthead. Thanks.

Hi there,
If you were sent an image or an image link, you can upload it to your Media Library. Once it is there, you can navigate to the image within the Media Library, click on it, and on the right side of the page you’ll see the full URL for the image. Go ahead and copy that.
You can then navigate back to your Widgets page. I see that you have both an image and a text widget already activated. You can use either, but for now, I’ll tell you about the image widget. Just paste the URL you’ve copied into the Image URL field and then click save. It should show up in your sidebar immediately!

I tried placing the URL on the image widget. It listed THE LIEBSTER AWARD in all caps. Not the image itself. When I returned, the image widget was no longer in the widget column. It had moved to back to the left column, and I could not move it back. So I placed the URL on the text widget. I left the results on my blog. It says: THE LIEBSTER AWARD. Under it, it shows the URL. No image is shown.

OK, you’re all sorted! The issue was that you were trying to link to your attachment page. What you needed to do was link directly to the image. In the future, if you’d like to do that, you can just go to that same attachment page and then click on the image. It’ll take you to the image, where you can copy the URL.
So if you go to your page you should now see the image. I set it to a relatively small size (the actual size of the image is quite large). You can make it larger if you like by going to your Widget page and adjusting the dimensions in your Image Widget.
