Adding unexisting blog name cause "Sorry, this site is reserved"
-
I try to add unexisting wordpress blog, but i get
The address _________________.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Sorry, that site is reserved!
I am the owner of the domain, how can I register blog name to my account thou?
For whom, if not for me, it is reserved?) -
You can’t create an address like testaddress.wordpress.com, unless you own the account by name testaddress.
Which domain you own and what is your account name?
-
i own http://www.nixsolutions.com/
my account name is forsazh, which dont disallow me to have qscomua.wordpress.com addresses and http://forsazh.wordpress.com/ registered to my account.how can i add domain that i own to my account, not creating new account?
Thanks ) -
I would like to take nixsolutions.wordpress.com
But how is it possible if it says site name is reserved.
Reserved for whom, then?) -
The top level domain here is wordpress.com. All wordpress.com hosted blogs are on.wordpress.com subdomains like friendsfromhome.wordpress.com.
When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.
If and only if you have registered the matching username account 5 years ago https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/friendsfromhome then log in under the correct username account and as the blog is reserved for you and you will register it after logging in under the correct username account.
https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1However, if you changed your username then the blog URL will not be available for use under the new username account.
-
you would need to contact the account owner nixsolutions – which has been registered for 5 years and convince them to give / sell you the blog name
but if you use domain mapping for a blog here – the base blog name / URL is covered up so the base blog name does not matter all that much – try nixsolutions2.wordpress.com
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ $13.-/yr

Reserved for whom, then?)So now all you ave to do is apply what I posted above to the nixsolutions.wordpress.com blog URL.

@auxclass
Hi there. :)The bottom line here is that when one is domain mapping it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com URL is, so I’m expecting that forsazh will let us know if mapping to an existing domain is his or her end goal, or not.
-
@timethief Have you checked if mentioned above account is empty, or if it was used for 5 years? if not so – what are my steps?
-
The account exists https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/nixsolutions
Why exactly are you attempting to secure this URL please?
Staff will not provide the email address as that would breach privacy policy.
Even if the person was contacted they do not have to gift you with their account.
When mapping an existing domain what the underlying .wordpress.com URLs is does not matter.
-
If to talk about other accounts. What are my steps, if there is blog with posts of more than 5 years age, how i can attach (register) that blog to my account?
Thanks

Ok, sorry, i didn’t understood. You shown example of old account I thought it is a rool for outdated account to get them of.
-
There is no way for you to gain access to an existing (or reserved) WordPress.com URL other than to contact the owner and convince them to give it to you. If you are unable to contact the owner, there are no other options. Staff cannot assist with this.
