Adding Users

Is there a way to add users to the blog without having to force them to sign up here?
I have a test server running here but, due to the TOS, I can’t put it out to the public.

There’s no way to add users to a WordPress.com blog without making them WordPress.com users. If your blog is not hosted at WordPress.com, you’re in the wrong place (per the sticky thread marked Read Me First) and need to be asking at WordPress.org.

As far as I can make out (I tried sending an invite email to myself) – people can’t just become members, they have to have their own blog to become an author/admin/whatever.
Surely that isn’t the case?
At the moment I’m the only user on my blog. Can people make a wordpress accounf without making their own blog? And then I suppose it’s just a case of adding their email address to my users?

They have to register with wordpress. They get an option to register and take a blog or register and not take one.

We provide support only for wordpress.com bloggers here. Our software is different from the software you download from wordpress.org. So if you have their software then you are in the wrong forum and here is where you should be http://wordpress.org/supportAnd, if you do indeed have a wordpress.org blog rather than a wordpress.com blog then the instructions above do not apply.
