Adding users with existing WordPress acounts

    I have just started yet another WordPress-powered site, independently hosted. The users I will be adding, who will write articles, posts etc, already have their own, independent WordPress accounts, gravatars etc which are used elsewhere, for example on IntenseDebate. Is there a way to add them just from their existing accounts rather then creating them afresh as Users?

    Hi there,

    You can do this if you connect your site to WordPress.com via the Jetpack plugin, and enable the WordPress.com Secure Sign-on feature. Then you’ll be able to invite other existing WordPress.com/Gravatar accounts via the WordPress.com dashboard for your site.

    Without Jetpack you’ll need to create user accounts from /users.php, though. But if you create those accounts using the users’ existing Gravatar email addresses, their Gravatar profile pictures should be pulled in automatically.
